Shimshuta  : (06 September 2010 - 10:48 PM) It was. Wish it was not over.
Shimshuta  : (07 September 2010 - 02:02 AM) Watching Resident Evil 3. I am looking forward to the new one, looks like a riot.
Todd  : (07 September 2010 - 02:48 AM) new ME2 DLC and new Spiderman today
SpaceInsomniac  : (07 September 2010 - 02:57 AM) Amazon: 12 months of live + Project Gotham Racing 4 + Chatpad + new headset = $55.54 Not a bad deal for those wanting to beat the price increase.
Shimshuta  : (07 September 2010 - 02:59 AM) New Dragon Age DLC as well.
Shimshuta  : (07 September 2010 - 03:01 AM) I am going to finish all the current games I am playing, then launch myself into a ME2 replay on super hard with all the DLC.
Todd  : (07 September 2010 - 03:04 AM) 6 days 'till Reach!
Shimshuta  : (07 September 2010 - 03:05 AM) indeed! Though Peer pressure, I got Halo 3 and ODST. Just finished playing them both with a buddy. Was a blast.
Todd  : (07 September 2010 - 03:08 AM) also Mafia 2 DLC today, slipped by me
Ray  : (07 September 2010 - 04:29 AM) I thought Reach came out at the end of the month
d2_s  : (07 September 2010 - 05:19 AM) How dumb can I get, I bought EA Skate 3 on the weekend forgetting that I already own it :hang3:
Ray  : (07 September 2010 - 07:16 AM) its bad enough you got it once
TonyDP  : (07 September 2010 - 11:26 AM) No, what's really bad is that he owns two copies but probably won't play either one
TonyDP  : (07 September 2010 - 11:27 AM) At AKA Superman's suggestion I got Alien Breed: Episode 1 for 400 points last week. Finished the game last night and had a good time with it. While it wasn't particularly original in any way it had a vibe that really hooked me in. The story, art style and graphical panels reminded me a lot of sci-fi stories I used to read as as kid in Omni and similar magazines.
SpaceInsomniac  : (07 September 2010 - 11:37 AM) 6 days 'till Reach AND 4 days until Reach reviews. Review embargo ends Saturday.
Todd  : (07 September 2010 - 01:48 PM) I am really disappointed in Meta, the redesign shows less info, and their scores seem much later now,
Shimshuta  : (07 September 2010 - 03:09 PM) yeah, i do not like the new Meta. I also do not like the new imdb design, it takes more clicks to get to the movie credits for someone. the "Personal Homepage" for each site is annoying.
d2_s  : (07 September 2010 - 10:58 PM) I take it you don't like skate games Ray?
fabio sir  : (08 September 2010 - 12:36 AM) Skate games, like any other sports game in general, are like Shakespeare in their brilliance and ingenuity along with their lack of creativity and evolution.
d2_s  : (08 September 2010 - 09:25 PM) Big few months coming up starting with Halo REACH and PS Move within the next 7 days!

Oh man! If that thing only ran component I would seriously think about grabbing it and Soul Calibur. I miss Sophitia. That thing launched my habit.

I still have my DC and a VGA box as well. I still plug it in from time to time and the console holds up pretty well. Just sorry I sold some of the games I had for it like Sonic and Quake; I tried looking for them on eBay for nostalgia's sake but most people are asking relatively high money for them.

I still remember how blown away I was when I first saw Sonic Adventure and Soul Calibur on the DC. I was also impressed with the port of Quake 3... the controls sucked though (limited DC controller).

When I hook up the Dreamcast now and play some Sonic, I temporarily regain that feeling again of playing the Dreamcast for the first time. It truly was a console way ahead of it's time. Now, let's finish the damn Shenmue story already!

I know what you mean by the 'blown away' thing Kalinius. It's something as a gamer I rarely experience. The jump from N64/PSX to DC was huge...I remember the very first time I threw Hydro Thunder in the tray how blown away I was by the draw distance and resolution. Now when I look at Hydro Thunder it's less than impressive, but I'd be up for that next gen spiritual successor they're supposedly releasing on XBLA/PSN!

I have two Dreamcasts and I picked up the VGA box a few months ago, it looks pretty amazing through VGA. I'd have it hooked up right now if I had a spot for it on my shelf. I also have like 100 games for it. Once the DC died the modding scene really picked up and you could download all the games. I don't feel too guilty about downloading all the games that I did because the DC was dead anyway and the only way you could buy the games was to get them used so you weren't really stealing money from anyone by downloading them. And the best part was that you didn't have to mod your DC to play them, they booted like normal games without anything being altered.

I think I am going to have to do that with my favourite DC games...won't bother with all of them though...I used to own about 150 DC games before I sold them and i'll only pick up my favourites + shooters etc.

Uh oh...new guy is already insulting the veterans! FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT!

When I went to MovieTradingCo last weekend to get Double Agent, they had a TON of DC games and systems...they even had a crap load of NES and GameGear games and accessories.

I dug out one of my two Dreamcasts this weekend and hooked it up via the VIA box to my 60" Sony. It's beautiful :)

(While I'm thinking of it I should hook the other one up to an old SD set I still have sitting in the guestroom for some Virtua Cop 2 action...)
